Sticthbond Recycled Fibre
Stitchbond is versatile, durable, cost effective and best of all made from recycled fibre thereby reducing single-use plastic. PET waste (plastic bottles), is collected, sorted, cleaned and re-melted which is then directly extruded into a stable fibre. Romatex purchases the vast majority of this raw material locally, converting it into a non-woven textile on site in Cape Town.
We continue to develop products & markets with our Stitchbonded fabrics, in the 2021 calendar year we have consumed over 66 million bottles worth of rPET fibre, based on the conversion factor provided by Fibre Manufacturers, making a significant impact in the reduction of plastic waste to landfill. And, this figure grows year on year.
Our Pet Stitchbonded fabrics are suitable for Sewing, Ultra-sonic welding, Printing, Dyeing, Embroidery, Coating, and Laminating, making them a winner for a wide range of markets.
