Insights from Romatex national sales manager

Megan Fonseca is, essentially, the link between the manufacturing division at Romatex and the retail customer. She not only oversees sales through our stores, but she also ensures that all orders are delivered on time and at the high-quality standards that Romatex has become known for.

She heads up a team of nine who are all committed to customer satisfaction and building closer relationships between the company and its customers. This means ensuring long-term relationships and building trust with buyers, whether they are individuals, procurement managers or business leaders themselves.

“I have worked on both sides of the fence and was a retail buyer for a major retailer for three years. I learned a lot about myself and the corporate world during this time and realised my heart is in manufacturing. Romatex staff have such pride in their work which is born out of a culture in the factory,” she says.

The bonds between employees at the company are also vital for morale and team cohesiveness. “I regard the staff members as my internal customers and the relationship with them is just as important to me. In fact, at Romatex, the staff are more like family,” explains Fonseca.

Where Romatex is heading

Romatex has been through many evolutionary phases in its 50-year history. “Every time we take a new division on board or decide to change it, it takes dedication and hard work to get everything up to speed,” she says.

In terms of future plans for her division, Fonseca points to expanding the range of textiles and products available. “We are experts in duvet and pillow manufacturing with years of experience,” she states. The future goals for the division are built upon past and present learning opportunities.

“What we have come to learn is to keep it simple, which would speak to the short- and medium-term goals. [Our] long-term goals are to grow the business in the hospitality industry, which is coming back in leaps and bounds after the Covid break,” Fonseca highlights.

She runs her sales department with efficiency and attention to detail – abiding by the quote by Benjamin Franklin; “Never leave till tomorrow that which you can do today.” If you’re looking for textiles, stitchbond, homeware or linens for your house, hospitality company or retail store, then visit Romatex today.
